The San Gabriel Valley Water Company (SGVWC) B6 Nitrate Treatment Plant construction is moving forward. The structural improvements phase of the project is completed and the foundation has been laid for the setting of treatment vessels and ancillary equipment for the nitrate removal system. Equipment has been anchored to the structural elements of the improvements. Once completed, the nitrate removal system will remove nitrates by utilizing nitrate-selective resins. Through an internal bypass mixing system, the full plant flow will be blended. This was done in an effort to economize and optimize plant operations while meeting water quality requirements. Civiltec has led design of the project and is currently supporting plant construction. The design focused on improved water quality and incorporated sustainable elements into water treatment processing.
