The La Cañada Irrigation District (LCID) has selected Civiltec to design approximately 3,250 linear feet of 12-inch steel water main that will be relocated in public right-of-way. The LCID is located in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains and serves approximately 40% of the city of La Cañada Flintridge.
The existing 12-inch main that is to be replaced is located across the backyards of several homes and was built in 1949 prior to the current developments. The District is concerned about possible leaks/breaks in the future and maintenance issues that would be associated with access to the existing main. The project scope also includes traffic control design for permit approvals by the City.
Civiltec’s Omner Meza will lead the design efforts with assistance by Sara Canché for research and permit processing with the City. This La Cañada Irrigation District project started in October 2016 and the Civiltec team is aiming to finalize design in January 2017.
