Civiltec delivered an updated Water Master Plan (WMP) for the San Gabriel County Water District (District), providing a thorough evaluation of the District’s water system along with a plan to ensure the continuation of reliable and cost-effective service delivery. Civiltec has delivered numerous WMPs for the City of Covina, the City of Brea and other agencies throughout the southwest.
The WMP encompasses 2,860 acres of the San Gabriel Valley sitting in the eastern region of Los Angeles County between the cities of San Gabriel, San Marino, Temple City, Rosemead and Alhambra. The District’s water supply is drawn from the Raymond Basin and the Main San Gabriel Basin and serves approximately 9,000 active connections.
Civiltec modeled average and maximum demands by hour and by day to assess the capacity of the District’s facilities. The study found that current capacity is sufficient, and provided recommendations for maintaining strong reserves under anticipated future conditions. Recommendations were also outlined for water system improvements, complete with cost estimates and priority assessments.
Civiltec Partner David Song, PE served as Project Manager. He has also worked with the District on two groundwater well projects.
