City of IndustryThe City of Industry recently contracted Civiltec to assess and upgrade four of its grade separation pump stations, which were built in the 1960s and in need of an upgrade. The pump stations are responsible for removing water from roads beneath underpasses to stop it from collecting and creating traffic issues.

The project scope includes assessing the functionality of each pump station and bringing the standards up to meet current code requirements. Once complete, the newly upgraded stations will work more efficiently to prevent flooding by pumping collected water away from traffic and into nearby stormdrains.

Civiltec will be working with the City as well as the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works (LADPW) to evaluate each station. LADPW operates the existing pump stations for the City; once the upgrades are complete, the County will again take ownership of the stations and be responsible for maintaining them.

Greg Ripperger will lead Civiltec’s analysis and design efforts as Project Manager. Sky Younger, Michael Malcolm, and Gray Garrison will round out the team.

Civiltec kicked off this project in March 2018. Final plans and specifications are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018.
