Reservoir No. 7 Roof Replacement
Construction Observation
La Canada Irrigation District
Our team recently wrapped up construction observation services for La Cañada Irrigation District (LCID) for the Reservoir No. 7 Roof Replacement. Our team managed by David Song, PE performed construction observation tasks during the rehabilitation of Reservoir No. 7. Key elements of the site included the complete removal of the roof support beams and columns, existing parapet walls, vents, and hatches, replacement of the existing concrete floor and wall panel joint sealant, existing SCADA antenna, and water level measuring system. This was followed by constructing concrete wall extension/roof support grade beam, seismic reinforcement structures, free span dome roof structure with vents and access hatches, and replacing the existing inlet/outlet reservoir altitude valve.
Our team monitored the conduction process and provided documentation of daily work progress with written logs, digital photographs, material delivery tickets, memos, and any correspondence then submitted to LCID. The project comprised seven months of demolition and building, plus two months of finish work and coating/painting. Additionally, our teams attended regular progress meetings with LCID and the contractor’s representatives to review and discuss the schedule, work progress, and clarifications to the contractor’s questions. With a new roof, the reservoir can begin a new quality service life for LCID customers.
