The City of Fullerton recently contracted Civiltec to replace sewer pipelines located near Commonwealth and Lawrence Avenues. The project also consists of both pipeline and street reconstruction along Santa Fe Avenue to Commonwealth Avenue.
Civiltec is responsible for the replacement of approximately 3,800 feet of 6-inch and 8-inch sewer pipelines in the City. In order to accomplish this, the team must establish a preliminary design based off first-hand survey and utility information.
Following this, the team will establish a ground survey throughout the project. Civiltec will work with Leighton Consulting to complete a geotechnical analysis of the subsurface soil, pavement, and groundwater characteristics.
The project scope additionally includes preparing approximately 1,100 feet of street reconstruction plans. The reconstruction will occur along Santa Fe Avenue, from Lemon Street to Lawrence Avenue, as well as along Lawrence Avenue to Commonwealth Avenue.
Shem Hawes will lead Civiltec’s analysis and design efforts as Project Manager. He will be assisted by Nick Brethorst, who will serve as Project Engineer.
The new sewer improvement project kicked off in mid-June 2017. Civiltec anticipates delivering final plans and specifications in August 2017.
