Civiltec has been selected by the Temecula Valley Unified School District as the civil engineer in replacing the existing Temecula Valley Charter School (TVSC) site with a new K-8 campus. The current school facility is at maximum capacity; the new charter school will serve 600 students from kindergarten through eighth grade. WLC Architects serves as the architect for this project.
This $12 million new construction project includes preparation of civil plans, background research, and topographic mapping. In addition to the on-site improvements, off-site improvements will include construction of approximately 1800 linear feet of new street, 1900 linear feet of new water line, and 2700 linear feet of new sewer line.
In order to begin construction at TVCS’s chosen location, the team will need the approval of a Public Use Permit (PUP), which is currently being processed through the County of Riverside. Although the new K-8 school is a public one, it is also categorized as a charter school, meaning that the project requires an approved PUP and will be reviewed by the County of Riverside, rather than the Division of State Architect (DSA).
The Civiltec team also worked with Western States Surveying and the Don Read Corporation for field surveying and aerial mapping, respectively.
The project’s schematic design phase began in May 2016. Civiltec will submit construction documents to the County of Riverside for review in March of this year, and construction is scheduled to begin five months later in August. Completion of construction and building occupancy is scheduled for August 2018.
