New Chlorine Storage System
Custom Alloy Sales, Inc.
Civiltec Engineering recently completed a critical project for Custom Alloy Sales, Inc. focused on enhancing safety and operational efficiency. The project involved the design and installation of a new chlorine storage system, replacing an outdated 38,000-pound tank with a more efficient 16,000-pound system. This upgrade aimed to minimize the on-site storage of liquid chlorine, significantly reducing potential risks associated with handling and storing large quantities of the chemical. The new system includes multiple safety features and additional reserve containers to ensure uninterrupted operations during the transition period.
Throughout the project, Civiltec Engineering’s team, led by Principal and Senior Engineer C. Shem Hawes, PE, and supported by Project Engineer Steven Walker, PE, demonstrated a high level of expertise and commitment. The team meticulously planned and executed the decommissioning of the old tank while simultaneously installing the new system, ensuring that CASI’s aluminum refinement process continued with minimal interruption. Their approach incorporated rigorous safety protocols, compliance with regulatory requirements, and innovative engineering solutions to deliver a state-of-the-art chlorine storage system. This project highlights Civiltec’s dedication to providing high-quality, safe, and efficient engineering solutions to its clients.
