Civiltec Engineering was selected as the co-recipient for Outstanding Small Project during the 2019 American Society of Civil Engineers Los Angeles Branch Annual Awards. The honor specifically recognizes Civiltec’s work with Azusa Light & Water (ALW) on the Interconnect CIP Project with the San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District (SGVMWD).2019 ASCE Awards

The interconnection included piping on San Gabriel Canyon Road, on-site piping at the water treatment plant, electronic metering, an electronic pressure reducer, an electronic control valve, and a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) equipment that will allow the SGVMWD staff to remotely monitor and control the meter, pressure reducer and valve from the SGVMWD office on Vosburg Drive in Azusa. Azusa Light and Water (ALW) prepared plan and profile drawings for this component of the project. Civiltec utilized the CAD, pothole and topographic information provided by ALW to complete this design and added details of the connections at each point.

The American Society of Civil Engineers represents more than 150,000 members of the civil engineering profession in 177 countries. Founded in 1852, ASCE is the nation’s oldest engineering society. The Los Angeles Branch Annual Awards Dinner was held on August 2, 2019 where Civiltec’s Shem Hawes attended with Melissa Barbosa, Carlos Solis and Manny Robeldo from the ALW team.
