Announcing Ben Townsend as Prescott Branch Manager
Ben Townsend, PE joined our Prescott office in September 2022 as Senior Project Manager and has brought a wealth of experience throughout Yavapai County and Northern Arizona to our team. Since joining the team over a year ago, Ben has worked on eighty-three projects, cultivated relationships with our long-term clients, and reached several new communities. Now he will embark on an exciting new career journey, becoming the Prescott Branch Manager, and being promoted to Principal Engineer.
In his career spanning over 20 years, his experience has grown and developed. It includes a broad scope of civil engineering, land planning, ADA-compliant site plan coordination and design, CAD design and drafting, site grading and drainage design, roadway design, stormwater detention design, water supply and distribution, wastewater collection systems, subdivision development, and stormwater drainage studies. Ben’s personable manner has allowed him to seamlessly coordinate with clients, design teams, municipality representatives, contractors, surveyors, and more. He continues to foster good working relationships with local municipalities including but not limited to the City of Prescott, Yavapai County, the Town of Prescott Valley, and Arizona Department of Transportation, and approving agencies.
Since joining Civiltec, Ben has embraced the spirit of camaraderie, professional interaction, and friendship in his time within Civiltec’s Prescott office. Reflecting “it’s satisfying to complete the projects and work that we have, but the way that we can work together, learn from each other and achieve quality in the process has made this more than just a job or tasks to complete.” Ben plans to carry this spirit on through his management, “It is a great opportunity for me to be taking over as branch manager at the Civiltec Prescott Office. Richard, and everyone here at the Prescott office, have been great in helping me to learn the Civiltec way and guide me to this point. I am hopeful that we can maintain and contribute to the existing atmosphere of producing excellent work together as a team and strengthening the friendships that already exist here.”
His team members are excited about his leadership as well. Raymond Buettner III has known Ben Townsend for several years and even recommended him. “Our wives worked together a few years back at the local high school. Since day one, Ben has been a great addition to our team in the Prescott office and to Civiltec in general. He is a fantastic engineer, extremely thorough, and overall, a perfect fit. It has been great having him this past year as he and Richard have made a seamless transition to Ben becoming our new Branch Manager in our Prescott office as Richard slowly eases into retirement.”
Richard Aldridge, PE said “appreciate and mentor the talented staff that he has the privilege to work with. I hope that he continues and always provide great service to our clients and to truly enjoys what we do!” Read more about Richard’s work and retirement in our upcoming article.
W. David Byrum PE, Civiltec President has this to say. “We are looking forward to Ben taking the helm of the Prescott office. The Prescott office was established over 30 years ago by the company’s Founder, Rick Shroads, PE. Rick managed this office until 2018 when Richard Aldridge came aboard as Branch Manager. Now, with the retirement of Richard, Ben Townsend fills these rather large shoes. Look down sometimes when you are standing in front of Ben, he has large feet! Ben is ready to embrace this opportunity to make a significant impact. We all believe in Ben’s ability to lead this office and the talented staff in the Prescott office. Remember, every challenge is an opportunity for growth. Your leadership will turn obstacles into stepping stones.”
