Civiltec has long supported the infrastructure needs of the Hassayampa community, and we’re pleased to announce the successful completion of a critical drainage repair project along Golf Club Lane. The area, located in a mountainous region and privately managed by the community’s homeowner’s association (HOA/HOAMCO), had experienced significant infrastructure challenges in early 2023.

A combination of severe road damage and a culvert collapse along Butte Creek had created major safety concerns. The original pipe barrels beneath the road had deteriorated due to rust, leading to structural failure. As the pipes lost integrity, they could no longer contain stormwater flows. This resulted in erosion, roadway slumping, and a hazardous void beneath the pavement. Sediment and debris were also being carried downstream, worsening the situation. Given the level of damage and the risk of further collapse, a full removal and replacement of the crossing was recommended to restore stability and protect essential infrastructure.

Under the leadership of Project Manager Ben Townsend, PE, Civiltec replaced the failed metal culvert with a high-performance drainage system. The original culvert had corroded to the point where stormwater bypassed it entirely, eroding the surrounding soil and threatening the road’s stability. Civiltec’s solution included the design and installation of durable high-density polyethylene (HDPE) piping—offering long-term performance with reduced maintenance needs and enhanced erosion protection for the roadway.

The success of this project was driven by strong collaboration. Civiltec coordinated closely with the Hassayampa HOA/HOAMCO and the City of Prescott. With sewer work already scheduled in Prescott near the project site, our team worked proactively to identify and mitigate potential conflicts. We accelerated the drainage repair timeline to avoid disruptions to nearby residents and City staff.

Our services extended beyond design and installation. Civiltec also provided comprehensive construction support—including on-site staking, inspection, and final documentation to facilitate agency approvals.

Special thanks go to our survey crew, construction partners, and all team members whose dedication made this project a success. It’s been a privilege to support the Hassayampa community, and we look forward to continuing our mission to deliver resilient, sustainable infrastructure throughout Arizona.
