Budsage Court Drainage and Paving Improvements

The City of Prescott is a diverse community in Northern Arizona with a population of 45,827. Within Prescott is the community of Yavapai Hills. Yavapai Hills prides itself on the preservation of the natural beauty of the land and how the homes and amenities nearby highlight those features. Budsage Court is a cul-de-sac off Shadow Mountain Drive in Yavapai Hills. Civiltec was awarded the drainage and paving improvements project for this cul de sac.
The street slopes west to east. Stormwater draining along the east side of the street overtops the curb and driveway entrances at several locations. Our team researched and utilized the previous drainage studies completed for this area. The Yavapai Hills Drainage Master Plan completed back in 2011 provided peak discharges for the flows draining to the south end of Budsage Court. We performed hydraulic analysis of the existing conditions to determine the carrying capacity of the street in comparison to stormwater peak flow rates. Our improvement plans and specifications were prepared in coordination with the City to minimize the street overtopping. We also completed a hydraulic analysis for the proposed improvements documenting the impacts of the proposed improvements. Improvements include catch basins and a new storm drain. The pavement improvements include the removal and replacement of the pavement for the entire length of the cul de sac. The project has now moved onto bidding and will soon be in construction!
