Rita Flores
Designer – Phoenix
What are you currently working on for Civiltec?
My current projects include the design of various Southwest Gas Company gas main replacements and service for residential and commercial distribution systems. I’m also working on two collaborative design projects for Santa Clarita Valley Water: Tosoro Highlands Development on the Upper 1.2MG Twin Steel Reservoirs, Booster Pump and Pressure Reducing Stations, as well as the Sand Canyon Plaza Booster Pump Station.
What are you excited about for Civiltec in 2021?
I look forward to celebrating Civiltec’s 35th business anniversary with my co-workers. I’m also excited to continue working from my home office on my current projects, and helping my colleagues tackle the contracts we received during the last quarter of 2020. Kudos to our marketing department and our leadership and development teams!
How has the company grown or changed since you first started?
Civiltec has seen continued growth thanks to our strong leadership team guiding us into the future. May they continue in the founders’ footsteps. They’ve brought in an influx of talented people over the years to continue our success in the market, and I can’t wait to see them all achieve their goals.
What about your personal growth – have your career goals evolved during your time at Civiltec?
I have been given every opportunity to grow during my nearly ten-year career here at Civiltec and look forward to continued success. I also appreciate the trust that I have earned from my superiors, allowing me the opportunity to work from home and spend more time with family.
What’s a hobby or activity you’ve been enjoying recently?
I enjoy spending time outdoors. I recently spent a week with my future husband, “One Bullet” Ben on a cow elk hunt doing plenty of hiking and glassing. Unfortunately my tag was not filled, but with any luck next year will yield better results in my hunting endeavors. We are also looking forward to our upcoming church wedding in July 2021.
