KEN DAVIDSON, R.L.S.
STAFF SURVEYOR – PRESCOTT
Where did you attend college, and what did you study?
I attended San Diego State University and graduated with a BS in Hydrogeology as well as a Minor in Geotechnical Engineering.
What drew you to working for Civiltec? What do you like best about working at Civiltec?
I could tell, even before I started working here 12 years ago, that Civiltec was full of fun and interesting people. For example, I first met Raymond Buettner during one of my initial job interviews. I knew back then he would be great to work with, and I get that same feeling from all my fellow coworkers.
What are some of your favorite types of projects to work on?
Recently, I have really enjoyed working on base mapping for boundary work. I like the challenge of putting together comprehensive base maps utilizing G.L.O. Plats, ADOT right-of-way plans, and information from many other sources. Leveraging research, found monuments in the field and record data to create a final product–it’s tough, but rewarding.
When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your time?
I have a lot of pets, so I love spending time with them: two iguanas, two snakes, three cats, a canary and a fish.
Is there a particular hobby, interest or skill you have that other employees might not know about?
If I am not welding up a project, I am probably in the process of doing some type of woodworking for projects around the house. I also spend a good amount of time performing vehicle maintenance.
