What have been some of the highlights of your work at Civiltec over the last decade and a half?

Some notable highlights of my career at Civiltec include:

  • Stamping my first set of engineering plans in 2015.
  • Recently becoming an owner of the firm.
  • Watching my team grow in numbers, skill, and expertise, which has been very rewarding.

What exciting things are going on in Civiltec’s Phoenix office right now?

We recently held some Engineering Week games that ended with a marshmallow fight and we have an upcoming foosball tournament.

You started with Civiltec as an intern back in 2004 while attending the University of Arizona. How has Civiltec’s internship program evolved over the years, and what excites you most about supporting today’s interns?

It has been exciting to see us expand our number of interns and to watch the new talent thrive. At its core, the internship program continues to meet its original goal of enabling interns to expand upon theoretical engineering knowledge taught in school by also considering real-world software, concepts, and designs.

What advice would you give to aspiring engineers or those just entering the field?

Find a great mentor, stay hungry for knowledge, and have fun.

What differentiates Civiltec from other engineering firms?

Civiltec feels like family. We are good at what we do and have fun doing it.

Fun fact! What’s a hobby or interest you have that others may not know about?

In college I played on 3 soccer teams and continue to play to this day.
