San Gabriel County, California
The San Gabriel County Water District Well No. 15 project consisted of providing engineering design, construction management, environmental process support, and public relations support to drill and equip a new groundwater production well for potable water supply. The new Well No. 15 is located on SGCWD owned property at the Longden Reservoir site.
The existing Well No. 7 is also located on-site and drilled to a depth of 910 feet in 1947 before being decommissioned prior to drilling the new well. Well No. 15 was drilled to 910 feet with perforations beginning at 500 feet bgs. The well was equipped with a 400 hp pump @ 516 feet TDH and will discharge 2,250 gpm into the adjacent Longden Reservoirs. The project also included construction of an acoustic well enclosure, chlorine disinfection building, discharge and waste piping, electrical system, Edison transformer and switchboard, automatic transfer switch, motor control center, on-site 600 kW generator with acoustic attenuation, telemetry and SCADA systems, and site improvements.
