NorwalkThe City of Norwalk has selected Civiltec Engineering to assist with crucial water pipeline replacement projects in 2016. Back on April 19, Civiltec was awarded a contract to manage water main replacement in the Central Service Area to be completed by Kana Pipeline Inc. The project will entail the replacement and enlargement of over 6,000 linear feet of pipe in Norwalk’s central service area of its water distribution system.

Civiltec will provide construction management and observation, and estimates the project will be finished by the end of the calendar year. “We’re very grateful that the City of Norwalk has entrusted Civiltec with updating its water distribution system–one of the most important utilities a City has,” said Project Manager David Song. “One of the biggest benefits of a large overhaul project like this one is that we can also improve the system’s hydraulics and fire flows while simultaneously upgrading the pipes.”

In addition to overseeing this main replacement project, Civiltec has been tasked with designing distribution main replacement that will connect the City’s Central and Southern Service Areas. The project, which calls for 3,500 linear feet of 12-inch pipe, is part of the City’s Capital Improvement Project (CIP) plan. Civiltec expects to fully deliver its design plans in Fall 2016.
