Staff Engineer – Fullerton
Where did you attend college, and what did you study?
I received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from University of California, Riverside. Shortly after, I followed it up with an Associate of Science degree in Water Utility Treatment Technology from Santiago Community College. Lastly, I received a Master’s degree from California Baptist University in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Water Resources/Environmental Science.
What drew you to working for Civiltec?
What drew me in to working for Civiltec was: firstly, the opportunity as a young engineer to grow and develop my skills under great guidance in the field that I love (water/wastewater); secondly, the fact that Civiltec is a legacy firm which indicated to me that this firm cares about its employees and their longevity in the company; and finally, the size of the company which hinted towards a richer experience.
What do you like best about working at Civiltec (so far)?
In a short period of time, I have enjoyed several things. I enjoyed how people from other offices have reached out to wish me a warm welcoming. I enjoy how Civiltec takes people’s work and personal life commitments into consideration by offering a 9/80 schedule, and I also enjoy spending time with my colleagues at the Fullerton office.
What are some of your favorite types of projects to work on?
My favorite types of projects are those that have me fully involved from preliminary design to construction buildout.
When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your time?
I recently got into surfing about a year ago. I like spending my time out in the ocean or enjoying the outdoors whether it’s a small hike, quick camping trip, or playing sports — followed up with a beer, of course. But what I enjoy the most is spending time with family and creating great memories with them.
