Shayna Partovi, EIT

Staff Engineer – Monrovia

Where did you attend college, and what did you study?

I went to Pasadena City College for two years and then transferred to Cal Poly Pomona where I got my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.

What drew you to working for Civiltec?

I enjoy working in the water/wastewater field, and I was drawn to Civiltec because they do a wide variety of projects in this area. Coming from a construction background, this is a great opportunity to be able to experience the planning and design side.

What do you like best about working at Civiltec (so far)?

I really love and appreciate that everyone here is so friendly, welcoming and willing to go out of their way to help me. I also like that I’ve already been exposed to many kinds of projects in the short time that I’ve been here.

What are some of your favorite types of projects to work on?

Most of my background has been in construction, so all the projects that I’ve been working on recently are new experiences and I’m not sure which is my favorite yet. Currently I enjoy working on water master plans and using ArcGIS and InfoWater to do water modeling.

When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your time?

In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, playing tennis, hiking and spending time with my friends and boyfriend. I’ve picked up a few new hobbies recently and my favorite so far is painting, but embroidery is a close second. I’m hoping to learn pottery in the future!
