The Southern California Water Utilities Agency (SCWUA) hosted a Vendors Fair at the Irwindale Speedway on September 13, 2018. SCWUA hosts various programs each year to foster cooperation between members and their respective agencies and companies, as well as assist the exchange of information relevant to the water industry.
Civiltec participated at the event for the first time. David Song, Bed Dawadi, Greg Ripperger, Caitlyn Padilla, Jorge Martinez, and Diana Occhipinti represented the firm and hosted fun games for attendees to enjoy. The games included business card raffle drawings, a matching game in which attendees had to find their match in the crowd and come back for a prize, and a prize wheel filled with some fun giveaways.
“Our booth was very popular. Attendees loved our games! We had a lot of people come up to our table and speak to the team about our firm, services, and projects,” Caitlyn stated.
“It was fun having attendees come back to the booth, saying ‘I found my match partner’ for the matching game,” said Diana. “If they came back with their partner, they were each given a prize. This also made it possible for the two matched partners to start a dialogue between themselves, which they probably wouldn’t have done otherwise. We brought strangers together for a brief moment.”
Civiltec additionally had the opportunity to catch up with many of its clients, including Suburban Water Systems, City of Monrovia, Orchard Dale Water District, and Azusa Light and Water.
“The Project Managers were able to informally meet with clients and catch up. Overall, it was a fun way to connect with our clients and we look forward to doing it again in the future,” said Caitlyn.
