Please join us in welcoming the newest member of the Civiltec team: CAD Technician Atenas Reynaga.

Atenas Reynaga is a 2013 graduate of Autonomous University of Sinaloa in Mexico, with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. In January 2015, she moved to the U.S. and started her Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering (MSCE) with an emphasis in Transportation at Cal Poly Pomona; she is on track to graduate at the end of 2016.

“I always had a passion and an obsession figuring out how everything worked,” said Atenas. “As I grew up, I realized I wanted to contribute to making our world a better place to live. I figured the best way to apply myself is civil engineering.”

Atenas hopes to become a Professional Engineer, which is why she is applying for the Engineer In Training (EIT) exam soon. Her multi-faceted background gives her a well-rounded view of Civiltec’s wide range of engineering projects.

“I generally love large-scale projects,” said Atenas. “I used to work in a construction engineering company in Mexico and I have been studying Transportation for my Master’s degree. Now, I’m working at Civiltec, mostly in Water systems, which I find very crucial to our future.”

“Atenas currently handles drafting responsibilities for projects ranging from site planning, water pipeline designs, and water infrastructure projects,” said David Song, Project Manager for Civiltec’s Monrovia office. “She has adapted well to Civiltec and already shown her expertise in CAD drafting. Atenas has a positive attitude and willingness to learn–she is a welcome addition to the team!”
