2018 Day at the RacesWith over 300 RSVPs, the 2018 Day at the Races event was our biggest and best event yet. Civiltec employees, family members, clients, and friends gathered at Picnic Area #1 in Santa Anita Park to celebrate the firm’s 32nd anniversary. The day was beautiful, with blue skies and a breeze to offset the warm temperature.

Civiltec President David Byrum acted as the Master of Ceremonies for the event, first thanking everyone for attending and explaining how to understand the races’ results. Throughout the day, David announced ticket numbers and congratulated the many raffle winners as they received their prizes from Diana Occhipinti. Partner Shem Hawes and Principal David Song also assisted with MC duties later in the afternoon.

Before the 7th race, David Byrum led a group over to the paddocks to preview the lineup and give everyone a chance to appreciate the horses up close. Once the horses were led out toward the track, the group migrated as well and watched the race from the finish line.

The 8th race of the day was dedicated to Civiltec Engineering. David Song, his wife Dawn, Christy Sipos, and Caitlyn Padilla were invited to watch the race from the Winner’s Terrace near the finish line. The fifth horse, Tule Fog, took the win! David, Dawn, Christy, and Caitlyn took a photo with Tule Fog in the Winner’s Circle.

Thank you again to everyone who was able to attend our Day at the Races. We look forward to celebrating another year of success with you all next year.
