Doug Terrill, EIT

DESIGNER – PHOENIX

Doug Terrill

Where did you attend college and what did you study?
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

What drew you to working for Civiltec? What do you like best about working at Civiltec?
I like that Civiltec is a smaller firm and not too ‘corporate.’ That is one of the aspects of the company that interested me in working here. I most enjoy working on many different facets of projects, including utility coordination, design, and construction administration. You don’t often get that kind of exposure working at larger firms.

What are some of your favorite types of projects to work on?
In the nearly three years that I have worked at Civiltec, I have worked on many types of projects and it is hard to select a favorite. Typically, my favorite projects are those where we provide much-needed relief for the local residents of a community, such as the Schultz Flood Mitigation projects.

When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your time?
I spend much of my time at the gym, over at friends’ houses for fun and games, out dancing at bars, and most importantly playing with my beloved boxer dog Zoey (With a “Y”).

Is there a particular hobby, interest or skill you have that other employees might not know about?
I love cars and motorsports, particularly drift racing. While I don’t compete, I attend races in Irwindale, Long Beach, Las Vegas, and here in Phoenix.
