Civiltec’s David Byrum and Shem Hawes recently attended the 2014 California Utility Executive Management Association (CUEMA) Leadership Summit at the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa. Mr. Byrum is a member of the CUEMA Board of Directors and a long-time supporter of the organization.

Civiltec was a Platinum Co-Sponsor of the Summit and the host of the kickoff dinner event at the  amazing Monterey Bay Aquarium which proved a great chance for attendees and their spouses to network and reconnect with old friends.

CUEMA 2014The following two days were pack with sessions that largely focused on how leadership in the workplace is evolving as the Millennial generation embraces more senior positions.

Ken Deck, the Executive Director of CUEMA, together with a team of Board Members on the CUEMA Conference Committee, arranged to bring the speakers together for this event. The conference aimed to give managers meaningful tools and information to improve their leadership skills and better their agencies.

“The sessions were very interesting for everyone at the event,” said Byrum. “CUEMA Director Ken Deck did a great job putting together a collection of speakers that really delivered some critical information for executives in our industry.”
